Sunday 8th June
Very warm in the sun this morning, no clouds about.
Managed to do 25 mile http://www.strava.com/activities/150857839
Lots of records broken today and a top speed of 38.9mph
Had my first accident today damage to my arm and leg/bum, bike took a knock. At least the argument of helmet/no helmet came to an end, as clearly saved more damage to myself.
However, all ok, serviced the bike and booked a spin class before my swim tomorrow night.
1 Week today and all be over! (hopefully)

Saturday 17th May
Medway Big Ride! Started off at 08.00 hrs and for the first 18 miles done ok, thought this was going to be a breeze. However, all up hill to the first resting station at 28 miles. This was a well earnt rest. After a few cheese and ham rolls and lots of fluid, set off for the next stage.
The next resting station was at 40 miles by this time I was out of energy, I was starting to hurt and was not looking forward to the last 10 miles, of mostly uphill climb.
After 50+ miles and hurting all over I managed to get to the finish line. Greeted by cheers and my medal. However, I just wanted to curl up and sleep.
After 4hrs and 45 mins of hard cycling time and 5 1/2 hours since we first left the starting line, I felt really good and glad I decided to enter.
Check the route out here http://www.strava.com/activities/142119519

Wow! what a lovely evening. Sun out, blue sky. Lets get home for a ride.
After my adjustments to my handlebars and a complete service, the bike was ready for its run.
Left just after 5pm for what was a great 13.8 mile round trip. This really was a good run out, and the weather is going to be good for the rest of the week. Great news for many more rides.

First time out since my break away from it all. How I struggled on this cloudy morning. Managed to reach my max distance so far 25.7 miles.
Very windy out there and I really did struggle on the last few miles. Think this what happens when you have too much of a break.

Well what a windy ride out this morning. Managed to go another different route with my neighbour Simon. The rain held off for us and we rode off at 08.30
Two and half hours and we are back home, with just under the 16 miles under our belt.
You can follow my route by visiting www.strava.com/activities/112115075
The route today I found to be very hard, mostly uphill, and has been the biggest incline of all my rides to date.
The bike is now cleaned and back on the Turbo trainer for tomorrow.
Please feel free to donate to my charity at www.justgiving.com/tony-leach2

Sunday 2nd February
I have been ill the last week with tonsilitis and not managed to get out on the bike. Today however, I set up my new Turbo trainer to use in the bad weather.
As I have not been out to ride, I tested the new Turbo with a quick 30 min session, clocked up 7 miles.
It will be a bit of a punishment at times, but worth it in the long run, and now I can train whatever the weather.
Will update pictures this week. Please check out the sponsor page www.justgiving.com/tony-leach2

Saturday 25th January
Well this was to be the longest ride out I have ever done. Met up with my neighbour Simon just after 08.30 and decided on a ride out through the lanes. We carried out towards Cooling Castle and Cliffe. Roads were flooded in places however, I was not prepared for a big hill climb towards High Halsow. This was a different route that I had rode on Monday night.
I always made a point to mention to Simon, I always rode up the hills and not walk. Now I know why he took me this route. I gave in and near the top of the hill, I had no choice to get off and walk. Crumbs that hurt!
After a brief stop for quick drink from my bottle we continued with our journey out towards Allhallows, where we looped and made a return back via Kings North and Chattenden.
I started to feel the pain now in my legs and the smallest inclines were taking me more time to ride.
As we approached the final part of the ride, I was hurting in the legs and concentrated on more, the reason why I am doing the training.
Eventually we made it to home after clocking up 25 miles, yes I did type 25 miles. However, it did take nearly three hours!
You can check out my route on www.strava.com/activities/108776024

Monday 20th January
Nice evening for a gentle 10 mile run out to High Halstow. Set off about 16.45 hrs, nice to see all the rush hour traffic stuck in queue's. I cycled past with a smug smile on my face.
My route is available to see at www.strava.com/activities/107777631
Had my first accident this evening, some idiot in a Black Corsa drove down a closed road and tried to reverse back out, just missed me, and I could not get my foot out the pedal clips quick enough. Yes I landed in the side hedge, and no, I was not hurt. Only damage was my pride. (lol)

Sunday 19th January
Set off at 9am this morning with Simon. Weather was nice the
odd cloud about, which meant, it was not cold. In fact at times I was
considering taking my jacket off.
We set off towards Gravesend
along the side of the motorway until we reached the Cyclopark at Northfleet. A
quick nose at the park, and a short ride past to the bottom of Pepper Hill.
We turned and headed back the way we came. It seemed all up
hill on the return leg, and at times, it felt a real hard push. However, I managed
without stopping on the hills. I did stop at the top though, I needed a drink.
Used my Strava app again and clocked 15 miles and a top
speed of 30mph.

Sunday 12th January
Worked late last night, so was not an early start. I was glad really as it was a heavy frost the night before and at least the sun was out. I met up with my neighbour Simon and we had a nice ride out to Gravesend River Front and back. We clocked up 17 miles and managed to get back before the rain.
I tried out my new bike shoes that click into the pedals. Much better than my trainers I wore last week, that kept sliding off.
My children keep laughing at me in all my gear, I will post a picture soon, but no bad comments please!
I will try and start training mid week, but the weather is a problem at the moment, with the rain and high winds.
